The California Preservation Foundation will present the prestigious Preservation Award to Christ Catholic Cathedral Corporation for its work in rehabilitating and restoring key features of the 1962 Richard Neutra designed building and its setting to continue its original use. The award will be presented on September 26, 2014 at a gala awards ceremony at the Cicada Club in Los Angeles.

This is the third award for the outstanding preservation work done on Christ Cathedral Arboretum. In 2013, the Orange County Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIAOC) presented its President’s Award for Outstanding Service in Protecting Our Architectural Heritage. In February of this year, the Arboretum was awarded a Citation of Merit in the Docomomo US Modernism in America Awards, recognizing the successful restoration of the building.
