, Executive Director & President
Cindy works closely with the foundation’s board of directors and is responsible for all of the administrative, fundraising, marketing, grant-making, and community relations functions of the foundation which supports all aspects of the Catholic faith in Orange County, California.
Cindy began her career in the nonprofit sector as a development director for the University of California, Irvine and spent 15 years as director of advancement for St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church and School in San Juan Capistrano. At St. Margaret’s, Cindy spearheaded and worked with many donors to complete several major capital campaigns to build a new high school campus, a library, science and technology center, and new athletic facilities at the school. Prior to joining the Orange Catholic Foundation in August of 2010, Cindy also served as a capital campaign consultant, advisory board member, and director of development for the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center.
Cindy is a graduate of the University of Illinois, and she and her husband have two teenage sons who are students at Santa Margarita Catholic High School and Loyola University of Chicago. Cindy and her family are also founding parishioners of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ladera Ranch, California.
Michelle Dao, Donor Relations & Campaign Coordinator
Michelle Dao joins the Orange Catholic Foundation (OCF) as the new Donor Relations and Campaign Coordinator supporting all aspects of our OCF fundraising and stewardship outreach. Her primary focus is to support the Our Lady of La Vang fundraising project. Michelle will also provide needed staff support to the Cathedral Sanctuary phase of the capital campaign along with assisting with outreach to the Vietnamese community through our existing and new OCF programs (PSA, Stewardship, Planned Giving, Donor Services, Events, Communications, Heavenly Lights, Youth and Young Adults initiatives. Etc.)
Michelle was raised in Orange County where she was a product of Catholic school education, having attended St. Callistus Catholic Elementary School (pre-Christ Cathedral Academy), has been actively involved in Youth and Young Adult programs at her parish (St. Callistus and now at Christ Cathedral), and knows many of our priests and Catholic leaders in our Diocese. In addition to her unique experience with the Catholic community in Orange County and fluency in speaking and reading Vietnamese, Michelle also has a track record in fundraising, special events, and alumni relations at the University of San Francisco where she earned a degree in Business Marketing.
Hank Evers, Director of Development & Communications
Before joining Orange Catholic Foundation (OCF), Hank Evers managed the multinational sales and marketing efforts at Pioneer Electronics, Sony, Thales Avionics, and M.C. Gill Corporation. Locally, he created entrepreneurial success while managing the operations of Doan Law Firm based in San Clemente.
Hank is youngest of 12 and with his wife Lori, enjoys their 4 children and 5 grandkids. His passion is creating and managing programs that bring people closer to Christ. This was evident in his volunteer work on numerous non-profit boards in the areas of education and homelessness. When joining OCF, Hank was the volunteer director of public relations for the California State Council of the Knights of Columbus and served on the board of St. Edward the Confessor Parish School.
At OCF Hank energetically manages the communications of our For Christ Forever Capital Campaign, plans the annual Conference on Business & Ethics, and executes a well-crafted strategic marketing communications plan that supports all development activities of the Foundation.
Andrew Hudson, Senior Accountant
Andrew Hudson joined the Orange Catholic Foundation in April 2013. Born and raised in Orange County, Andrew left to pursue an education at San Diego State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. Since returning to his hometown, he assists the OCF in accounting for its various funds and campaigns. Andrew brings his experience working alongside various non-profit organizations in both Orange County and San Diego.
Tony Jennison, Vice President of Philanthropy
Tony Jennison joined the Orange Catholic Foundation in the summer of 2015. Tony has more than 14 years of experience in sales and fundraising and has served for the past 12 years in various university advancement (alumni, major giving and gift planning) positions at Loyola Marymount University, the University of Southern California, and most recently as the Executive Director of Advancement for the USC Caruso Center.
In his role, Tony will work closely with diocesan leaders, donors and volunteers to focus on advancing the mission of OCF and the Diocese of Orange through philanthropic means. Areas of support include the ongoing Christ Cathedral capital campaign, the endowment building efforts for our parishes and schools, along with other ministries in our diocese.
Tony was educated in the Diocese of Orange and earned his BA and MBA from Loyola Marymount University as well as a Master in Leadership from USC. Tony and his wife, Liz, have two children and are parishioners at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
Linda Ji, Donor Services Coordinator
Linda joined the Orange Catholic Foundation in April 2015 with over ten years of experience in youth-focused community development non-profit work, including Catholic youth and young adult ministry. At OCF, Linda processes gifts and handles correspondence and donor inquiries. She also provides writing and copyediting support across the organization and contributes to fund development efforts. Linda speaks both English and Korean and earned her Master of Divinity degree at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University in Berkeley, California. She is grateful for this opportunity to use her administrative, technical, and communications talents to serve the Catholic faithful in Orange County, where she grew up. Linda firmly believes that stewardship of our resources is an integral aspect of authentically living our Christian faith. Her dedication to faith and justice drives her to work hard and to serve however God calls her.
Brad Kimball, Vice President of Operations
Brad is an accomplished leader with extensive experience executing large-scale programs and overseeing technology. Proven success and candid style have established strong relationships with business and technology partners. He oversees the daily operations that supports the foundations mission and vision. Brad is instrumental in the foundations commitment to providing the highest levels of service and integrity to our communities. He is quality-driven with a focus on enhancing user confidence, reliability, and performance.
Debbie Leaverton, Director of Parish Stewardship Education & Pastoral Services Appeal
Debbie has served the Diocese of Orange since 2001 and is responsible for directing the annual Pastoral Services Appeal and the Parish Stewardship Education ministry. She provides consultation for parishes on the implementation of Christian Stewardship, capital campaigns and electronic giving and coordinates formation opportunities for Pastors and Lay Leaders to help parishes embrace Christian Stewardship as a way of life. Debbie’s background includes project management, sales and marketing and training and development. She serves on the Board of the International Catholic Stewardship Council and recently chaired the sub-committee for Parish Stewardship Services. Debbie firmly believes that Christian stewardship is the living of our faith as Disciples of Christ. She is inspired by working with parish leadership and seeing the impact Stewardship can have on parishes, increasing engagement of all parishioners and revitalizing the life of the parish.
Beverli Legua, Communications and Stewardship/PSA Program Assistant
Beverli graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in Film and Media Studies, and a Digital Arts Minor. Although, her background includes a variety of industries, including entertainment and retail, her true passion is serving within the Catholic Church. At the Orange Catholic Foundation, Beverli provides assistance to the Director of Development and Communications, as well as the Director of Parish Stewardship Education and Pastoral Services Appeal, but is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. She joins the OCF family with an upbeat attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
Gerald Miller, Controller
Gerald manages the accounting and finance functions for the organization including, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, endowment management, capital campaign financials, audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and staff supervision. He also provides financial reporting and support to the finance, investment and audit committees of the Orange Catholic Foundation Board of Directors.
Gerald brings a wealth of experience from both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, with diverse industry experience, including manufacturing, property management/real estate, commercial facilities, architecture/engineering and non-profit youth vocational training; and of company sizes, from sole proprietor to publicly-traded firms. He has worked, as a senior-level management accountant with non-profits, with funding sources of the government (federal/state/local), as well as from private contributions. Before joining The Orange Catholic Foundation in May of 2015, Gerald served as Interim Financial Controller at Chadwick School, a non-profit, K-12 private school in Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree from California State University at Long Beach, in Magazine Journalism and his MBA from the University of Phoenix/Los Angeles, CA, with an emphasis in Accounting. As a professional practice, Gerald adheres to US General-Accepted, Accounting Principles and pronouncements of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
Suzanne Nunn, Consultant, Planned Giving Specialist
Sue provides the Orange Catholic Foundation, parishes, schools and other Catholic charitable organizations in the Diocese of Orange with trainings in endowment development, endowment program development and ongoing planned giving support. Throughout our lives, we are given the opportunity and challenge to be a faithful steward of the gifts God has given us. How can we be good stewards of those gifts after we no longer need them? Sue works closely with individuals and families to begin to answer that question by faithful, thoughtful and informed planning. Sue prepares families for their discussion with their own personal advisors.
Anna Orozco*, Donor Services & Funds Assistant
Anna joined the Orange Catholic Foundation in June 2013. Anna previously worked for the Crystal Cathedral Ministries for 18 years. During that time, she held many positions, last of which was Administrative Assistant to the CFO. She also worked with Stewardship records and Planned Giving. At the Orange Catholic Foundation, Anna assists with data entry, processing documents and gifts from donors and receives calls and inquiries. She loves doing mission ministry work for the Lord and is a happy and friendly addition to OCF.
Roxanna Payton*, Executive Assistant
Roxanna is the assistant to the Executive Director and President of the Orange Catholic Foundation. She provides administrative support to the office staff and to the Board of Directors of OCF. Roxanna has worked as an administrative assistant for the Diocese of Orange for more than eleven years in various departments. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and earned her B.A in American Literature and Public Affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Stacey Velazquez, Data Entry Clerk
Stacey has been a dedicated employee of the Diocese of Orange for 25 years. She has assisted in many different diocesan departments over the years, and for the past 13 years has worked on the PSA and more recently on the For Christ Forever Capital Campaign with data entry and various other tasks. She is a joyful support to all OCF staff, providing them with the help as requested to increase their productivity.
Yolanda Wright, Senior Funds Coordinator
Yolanda is our resident database expert, insuring that all donors’ gifts are properly applied according to their intention. She brings her expertise from 15 years of working for non-profits and always puts the donors’ needs first. Yolanda coordinates all the various campaign funds that the Orange Catholic Foundation manages to insure proper acknowledgement and application of gifts. She also assists with the grants process when the raised funds are distributed. Yolanda is a six-year veteran of the Orange Catholic Foundation.
